Outline Itinerary

Day 1: St. Petersburg
Welcome to St. Petersburg, the capital of Imperial Russia. Despite being intensely proud of itself for its intellectual and its workers’ revolutionary past, St Petersburg is an easy and relaxing city. Transfer by private car to the hotel.

Day 2: St. Petersburg
Visit St. Petersburg with a local guide, on a full day private tour of the city with a focus on the Hermitage Museum. The museum boasts one of the largest collections of art and artifacts in the world. Displays include prehistoric cultures, classical antiquities, Western European art, and golden treasures. In the afternoon, visit the imposing Peter & Paul Fortress built in 1703.

Day 3: Pushkin & Peterhof
Venture outside the city on a private excursion to the magnificent palaces of the Czars at Pushkin and Peterhof. Admire Pushkin’s blue-and-white Baroque structure, set in a richly landscaped park, with Neoclassical additions.

Day 4: Overnight Train to Moscow
Spend the day soaking in the rich cultural treasures of St. Petersburg. In the evening, board the overnight train, sleep in a private compartment, and wake up in Russia’s capital city of Moscow.

Day 5: Moscow
Arrive into Moscow, the center of power of Russia and one of the world’s great capital cities, with a private transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, enjoy a private tour introducing some of Moscows’s most famous sites: the Cathedral of St.Basil the Blessed, Tverskaya Street, the former headquarters of the KGB, and Victory Park with its fountains and churches.

Day 6: Moscow
A full day private tour of Moscow will focus on the 64-acre Kremlin, a UNESCO World Heritage Site together with Red Square. Visit Cathedral Square and the Armory Chambers to see the treasures of the Tsars, a Russia tour highlight. In the afternoon, visit Kolomenskoe, a unique artistic, historical, architectural and natured landscape museum south of Moscow.

Day 7: Moscow
Spend the day on an independent tour of Moscow. Perhaps enjoy a visit to the State Tretyakov Gallery/ National Museum of Russian Fine Art. The museum features paintings and sculptures by Russian artists from the 11th to the 20th century. Be sure to view the Icon Gallery showcasing a priceless collection of Russian icons.

Day 8: Departure
Transfer to the airport for the departure flight to the United States.
